Summer 2015 Internship: Culminating Project #2

It all started when...

During my Event Planning and Marketing Internship at the SUNY Potsdam College Libraries and Archives in the summer of 2015, I envisioned and planned the History and Future Conversation Series, which aimed to feature presentations and panel discussions throughout the College's Bicentennial year (2015-2016). These conversations would serve as "bicentennial events" that would engage the campus community in the College's 200 year history, as well enlighten them about where the College would be headed in their third century.

In September 2015, the Conversation Series kicked off with a panel discussion that I hosted, entitled "The History and Future of Arts and Sciences," which served as the culmination of all my research involving the College's liberal arts history.  The panel discussion featured the Dean of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Steven Marqusee; his two predecessors, Dr. Galen Pletcher and Richard Del Guidice; and now-retired secretary for The School of Arts and Sciences, Marilyn Fayette. My short film Where Should I Begin? was also screened for the first time at the event, preceding the panel discussion. The event was a huge success, filling SUNY Potsdam's Dunn Theater with students, faculty members, alumni, and community members.
